BrainWorks

BrainWorks technology is next generation computed assisted translation tool suite which, unlike the present general purpose translation memory systems, is a series of dedicated language pair specific, application specific and field specific tools. As no single translation is general purpose and each one is limited and specific to the case in hand, substantial benefit can be obtained if the specifics of the case can be exploited. Basic requirements are that the source language is English and the application/field is limited. In a way, a BrainWorks tool is an expert translator from English on a special field.

Translation by BrainWorks technology mitigates the deficiencies of other approaches. Unlike translation memory systems which recognize previously translated segments (patterns) of the text, BrainWorks concentrates on the structure of the sentence and thereby provides an improved understanding of the underlying message. In most cases BrainWorks produces text which an expert reviewer can polish in a fraction of time compared to other approaches. This increase in throughput has many beneficial effects including lower cost. As one reviewer can process much larger amount of text, it is no longer necessary to use multiple translators. At the same time BrainWorks is a machine and unable to make mistakes, such as omissions, which improves the quality and accuracy of the translation.
